Yahoo – Again – Is No.1 Search Engine – Beating Google
Yahoo™, again, is the No. 1 search engine of choice among American desktop users.
Yahoo™ surpassed search engine giant and longtime leader Google™ in Web traffic in July and maintained that lead throughout the remainder of 2013, according to a new ComScore™ report.
The ComScore’s most recent stats revealed Yahoo had more than 195 million unique U.S. visitors from desktop computers last month, giving the firm a small but significant lead over Google’s 193 million.

Mayer has been working her magic on the formerly floundering search engine firm by focusing on users’ “daily habits” such as e-mail, the home page and Internet search as well as mobile devices.
Redesigns and acquisitions have bolstered Yahoo’s offerings to make it more competitive with its chief rival: Google.
Microsoft took third place with 175 million, followed by Facebook™ with 140 million. AOL rounded out the top five with 120 million.
Facebook™ was the top social network by a landslide. LinkedIn took the No. 2 social network spot, but came in 20th overall with 45.5 million, while next in line Twitter was 24th on the list with 39.7 million. Yahoo-owned Tumblr™ sat in 30th with 34 million and Pinterest™, with 28 million took the 45th spot.
ComScore’s list of the top 50 list does not include mobile users.
